New case for laptop

School starts again on 30/1/18, and I’m going to college. We recently got a case for my school laptop to keep it safe. The case is red and the laptop fits in it perfectly. My school bag already has a laptop compartment but it doesn’t have much protection and the case fits inside the laptop compartment, so it will be used for extra protection.

The school laptop has been set up and is ready to go but its antivirus, Norton Security, is paid and the free trial expires in 16 days. I will have to switch to Windows Defender.

I have noticed that Windows 10 is faster than Windows 8 and brings back a few Windows 7 features that I missed, like the start menu. Cortana is also very useful for opening programs. It’s a shame that Dell didn’t let me upgrade my windows 8 laptop when the upgrade was free.

Happy New Year

ℹ️ The Happy New Year tagline has been removed. In other news, this blog is now almost 2 years old! It was created in February, 2016.

It is now the first of January, 2018 in New Zealand. My blog will have a Happy New Year tagline today, which will be removed tomorrow. Happy new year, everyone! Welcome to 2018!

To celebrate the new year, we are going to eat home-made carrot cake, which my mum made.

How are you going to celebrate the new year? Tell me in the comments!

New computer

I got a new Windows 10 ACER spin 5 today. It’s for college next year. I need to bring a device to school, so I chose a windows 1o laptop. I’m still using my windows 8.1 DELL Inspiron 17 laptop at home because it is more powerful. However, it is very big and I needed a smaller laptop to take to school. At the moment, I’m waiting for it to install an update. It’s at 86%, which increases by two percent every few minutes. It’s going to take a long time. I’ve got four browsers on it: Mozilla Firefox (my default browser), Google Chrome (just in case something doesn’t work on Firefox), Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer (came with the computer.) The new computer works well and I like it.

Merry Christmas

ℹ️ The tagline and snow have been removed now. There might be something special on the first of January, 2018 though…

It’s Christmas in New Zealand! Merry Christmas, everyone! Blueberry Post is celebrating Christmas with a Merry Christmas tagline and snow! In New Zealand, it doesn’t snow at Christmas because it’s summer. In fact, it’s windy and raining at the moment. But snow is cool, so I added it anyway…

The snow and the tagline will be removed on Boxing Day. If the snow is making it hard to see my posts, don’t worry. It’s only for one day. Besides, what are you doing reading my blog on Christmas day? You should be playing with your presents!

New watch

Yesterday I got a new CASIO watch because the strap on my old TIMEX watch is broken and it’s gone missing. The new watch is really cool. It tells you the time, the date and the day of the week. You can set five alarms on it. The first one is a Snooze Alarm, which beeps for ten seconds, rests for five seconds and then beeps again. It keeps going seven times. The other four are one-time alarms, which beep for ten seconds once and then stops. This is better than my old watch, which only had one alarm. It also has a stopwatch and a countdown timer. Finally, it has a feature called Dual Time, which means you can have two times on your watch at the same time. This is useful if you go to another country, so you can set the new country’s time without worrying about messing up the time of your own country, which is already on the watch. It even has an illuminator to light it up when it’s too dark to read. It’s quite cool. Here is a table with the features of both watches:
