Minecraft: Nether Fugitive Challenge – My attempt

Today I tried the Minecraft: Nether Fugitive challenge. It is a Minecraft challenge that I thought of and posted on my blog a few weeks ago. You should probably read the post where I talked about that challenge before you read this one, if you haven’t already, so that you understand what I am talking about. If you don’t understand some of the Minecraft terms in the video, check out the Minecraft Wiki.

Anyway, when I started the challenge, I was in a long tunnel in the Nether. I ran along the tunnel until I found two Zombie Pigmen, which I killed by throwing my trident at them. They fought back of course, so I had to eat some steak. After that, I kept running down the tunnel until I found an area with three Zombie Pigmen. Since you have to kill every mob you see in the challenge, I quickly built a one by two tunnel diagonally upwards and then provoked the Pigmen by throwing a trident. They all swarmed for the stairs and usually couldn’t get up because they were all struggling to be the first. And if any got up, I could knock them off the stairs again with one stab of my trident. So I slowly killed them one by one. I was now next to a giant lava lake and you can’t stay where you are or turn back in the challenge, so I mined some netherrack and built a bridge. Unfortunately, my settings had been reset for some reason and auto jump was enabled, so I kept stepping on magma blocks and taking damage. I had to eat another steak to regenerate my health. But eventually, I had enough netherrack and built a bridge towards the other side. But when I was two thirds of the way there, a ghast’s fireball hit me and I was thrown into the lava. I quickly climbed back onto land but I was on fire. I dodged a second fireball fired by the ghast, still taking fire damage, and tried to deflect the next fireball with my trident. However, I didn’t get my timing right. I really need to practice deflecting fireballs, I’m not very good at it. The ghast’s second fireball killed me. Game over. If you count the time I survived starting from the moment I switched to Survival Mode, I survived for three minutes and 40 seconds.

I was going to upload the video of me doing the Nether Fugitive Challenge, but unfortunately it is bigger than the maximum upload size so I can’t upload it. And besides, you would all probably call me a noob if you saw the video.

Can you survive longer than me? I’m sure you can, if you play Minecraft. If you are interested, try the challenge and tell me your score in the comments!

Trying out some new programs

New Story: Adam the Archer

I have finally finished writing the story! It is the longest story I have ever written, and it is called Adam the Archer. Just in case you haven’t read my previous post, the story is set in Minecraft and is about a boy called Adam who is found by skeletons in the woods as a baby. He grows up and has several epic adventures, finding new friends and powerful enemies along the way! If you don’t like Minecraft that much, don’t worry. Although the story is set in Minecraft, not everything in it is based on Minecraft and I made some variations (Like blood and bruises!) You can find the story at the top of my stories page.

Unfortunately, the poem My Cat Is Greedier Than Your Cat wasn’t working. The Microsoft viewer I was using wouldn’t display the document. It is at the bottom of my Stories page and is the oldest story on my blog (I wrote it two years ago, in year 7.) I fixed this problem by changing the viewer to Google. Now it works again and everything is okay, but it just looks a bit different. The Google viewer seems to be more reliable and loads faster though. The old Microsoft viewer had more features, like text highlighting, but all of them are useless if it doesn’t work.

If you spot any more problems with pages or posts on my blog, let me know in the comments! I check them almost every day.
